A movement and wellness centre in nature for the community
Welcome!
We are so happy you are here! The first thing you need to know about us is our name... Why "Espace LA VIDA!"? One of our kids had a phase where she would yell out "LA VIDAAAA!!!!" Which is like a celebratory exclamation of "LIFE!!!!" and we LOVE life and wish to bring that same enthusiasm for life to our community. "Espace" means "space" in French and this words is more symbolic of what we have to offer... since we have a little piece of land to share, we went for a more global term like "space" instead of "centre", for example.
Our vision is to share Pachamama's beauty and benefits with all of you whether it be by taking a little stroll in our forest, attending a temascal, coming to a retreat or enjoying a class in our eco-friendly straw-bale studio (which is in the construction phase)! We are excited to see you!

Jazz and Paco: the co-founders
Hi! We are Jazz and Paco, a Canadian-Mexican couple who shares the same dream of bringing people together through movement and nature.
Jazz, absolutely passionate about life, dance, music, trees and art is the one you will see most often hosting events, classes and workshops.
Paco brings pre-hispanic culture and philosophy to the space. He is also the one who builds most of our structures on the property. He is passionate about nature based, integral wellness and physical activity.
We each bring our own unique gifts and medicine to our community and are excited to see you

The Eco-studio
We are currently in the process of planning and building a circular shaped studio made of wood, straw-bales and clay. How exciting!
This space which symbolizes community and flow, will be our main venue to host dance, yoga, movement classes as well as song circles, sacred circles, workshops with special guests, day retreats and more!
The natural materials we will use will not only connect us and our participants to Mother Earth but will also be an artistic expression of our love for life. We wish to live in harmony with Pachamama and so using biodegradable materials is an essential part of our values.
If you want to help us build our studio, do reach out!
Get your hands muddy and contribute to this beautiful project!

The Temascal
A temascal can be literally translated to "house of steam". It is the south American version of a sweat lodge. A space to gather for ceremony, prayer, purification and personal and spiritual growth.
We are in the process of building a temascal in our forest using traditional methods as much as possible (we still have to take the Canadian weather into consideration).
Paco has sat in ceremony many times in Mexico and is eager for the community to receive the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of this cleansing and intense experience.
What to expect in a temascal ceremony: medicine songs, prayer, sweating, connexion to breath, release, intensity and LOTS and LOTS of HEAT.
Hot lava stones are warmed up in a fire pit next to the temascal and then brought into the center of the enclosed space. The person leading the ceremony then adds water onto the stones and this creates hot steam.
